Soap and Glory// Brand Focus + Swatches

I'm sure we're all familiar with the rising brand known for it's cute package and it's undeniably good products ranging from skincare to makeup. Here are some products that I own from when I took advantage of the 3 for 2 deals in Boots.

The signature Soap and Glory scent can be smelt everywhere in my school, mostly in the form of hand creams. If you ask for some hand cream there is an 85% chance it's going to be 'Soap & Glory Hand Food'- a good reason too. It moisturising, not sticky and they come in a range of sizes making it suitable to be dotted around the house and easily popped into your handbags.

I will probably hear some screams when I say that I dislike the 'classic' 'Soap & Glory' scent. Maybe it's too flowery, maybe I've just become sick of this scent. I'm not saying it's horrible, it's just not right for me. So currently, my favourite 'Soap & Glory' scent can be found in Foam Call Body Wash it's called 'Fruitigo Fragance'- frozen yuzu, orange oil, green fig and jungle pomelo essence. Some say it has a 'masculine scent' and I would totally agree. It has a powerful refreshing scent which lingers on your skin after the shower and I'm looking forward to the day when I will finally finish 'The Righteous Body Lotion' to buy 'Butter Yourself lotion'

One of these 500ml bottles would last you ages, so I am looking forward to the day I finally finish this lotion. Nowadays I'm not particularly fond of the scent but previously I adored this pleasant subtle flowery scent and wished to smell like this 24/7 because I can imagine myself prancing in a field full of flowers. 'The Righteous Body Lotion'  moisturises and keeps your skin hydrated.

L- Swatched once.// After Waterproof eye makeup remover

The 'Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl' liners are a absolute steal. For £5 each I don't think you could go wrong with this creamy smooth wateproof liner which comes in 2 shades from top-Cocoa Bean & Superblack. It has extremely long staying power and would be perfect for those of you who have watery eyes.

I have not tried many of their makeup items but the few that I have tried are spectacular. I've hit pan on my beloved 'Soap & Glory Solar Powder' after using it nearly everyday in hopes to give me that sun kissed look. I mostly use the matte side for contouring and occasionally I'll use the shimmery highlight as a wash of eyeshadow instead of it's intended use.
Multi-tasking products for the win!

What are your favourite 'Soap & Glory' products and what would you recommend?

8 Things Hannah Montana has taught me

This post is dedicated to one my favourite Disney Channel show which has truly captured my heart. After religiously watching 98 episodes, 1 movie and listening to the 'Best of Both Worlds' CD, I would have hoped that I have learnt a few useful lessons than just quoting random lines in my daily life where I quickly scan if anybody got my reference.

1) It's always appropriate to break out the funky chicken dance whenever the time feels right. I mean, it's so much cooler than the sprinkler dance.

2) You only need a few best friends who will make you happy. Even if Amber and Ashley are teasing you, just know that they will be there to make sassy comments back at them.

 3) There are days where you want to be a complete slob and just stay in bed. Treat yourself and just do it.

4) You're selfie game doesn't always need to be strong. Even if you're a worldwide superstar.

5) Appreciate everything. It doesn't matter whether you get an ugly cat sweater or a paperclip- just work it like Miley and Oliver.

6) Sometimes, girls talk absolute shit and we need to learn that all the babble that comes out doesn't truly represent what some want to say.

7) It's ok to make mistakes, learn from it and move forward.

        8) Don't be scared of the future. We all eventually grow up-some faster than others but it doesn't change who we are.

Study Saviours

The ominous exams are quickly approaching and let's be honest, we need every little bit of help we can get. So here are some simple tips which may help you ace your exams. Good luck!

Highlighters are a student's best friends

Hopefully you sang the sub-heading in the same tune as 'Diamonds are a girls' best friend' If you didn't, what you waiting for?

Nowadays, highlighters are such an underrated unloved piece of stationary. You got to give it some love! If you highlight important keywords and definitions your brain is more likely to absorb the important information hidden in the masses of text thrown at your face.
Don't go crazy highlighting everything like the 'I love colouring kid'; do highlight in different colours and create a code.

Study buddy or nah

We need to be really honest with ourselves on the subject of having a study buddy. There is one crucial question that you need to ask yourself which 'Will you actually study?'

There are many advantages of having a study buddy like having company to get you through these torturous sessions, asking questions when one may not fully understand, encouraging words and your breaks will not be as boring. Some disadvantages of this method is that sometimes, your friend is not the best person for this job and you just can't shut up leading you to distract each other. So choose wisely.
Don't start chatting about irrelevent things like what you're doing this weekend; do focus on revising and encourage each other.

Flash cards

I know, I know, we are living in a modern society therefore I should use a flashcard app but I refuse.

Flash cards are very versatile and portable. This means you can slip a couple of them into your handbag and read them while you are waiting for a train, eating and any other situation where you may find yourself with nothing to do instead of playing Crossy Roads.
Don't write paragraphs of text onto them; do write key information and make them colourful.

Post it, post it, post it!

Post it notes are the bomb! Who would have thought an invention of sticky paper would be so good.
Stick them on your windows, your mirrors, your fridge, your cupboard, everywhere! Write facts and revision notes onto some brightly coloured post its and every time you walk past it, you read it and hopefully, it will be ingrained into your head like cement. When your exams have finally finished- hooray! you get to rip these suckers of your furniture and let me tell you, this is more satisfying than popping bubble wrap.
Don't write pointless things for the sake of sticking it up; do put them in places where you are likely to see it.

Last little message for you is to keep calm, have fun and stay healthy. Hope all your exams go splendidly and you should now go to revise :)

About

Well, you clicked on this page to find out more about me.You are too cute:)

Hi guys,

my name is Carmen (sixth form student) and I have started this blog because I realised that I have a heck load of time therefore I should be productive. Thanks to my curiosity, I'm now writing blog posts.

At first, I envisioned this blog to be a place where I can talk about beauty and fashion but over the last few weeks I'm debating whether I want to go in that direction.

I've decided that I want to make my blog more personal by sharing some of the experiences that I have had as well as some of my wondering thoughts and occasionally, write some beauty posts.

So, now I should probably swing open the gates for you to enter my life.
Welcome to my blog.

10 things I learnt in Secondary School

Last day// 2010-15

Tearful goodbyes, bittersweet smiles and hope.

Time flies when you're in school. Sitting in the leavers assembly and watching videos consisting of endearing, embarrassing and eventful moments over the past 5 years really struck home that this road is finally ending and the next step dictates where your life is going.

I remember hesitantly going into the daunting hall, not knowing anyone and nervous as hell because you're in a 'big girl school' and everything is going to be spectacular like 'High School Musical' but sadly, there wasn't any spontaneous dance routines and singing in the canteen nor did I meet anyone named Zeke who wanted to make the perfect Creme Brulee but I did meet some amazing people who have grown to become wonderful young ladies and many would say 'Thank god for puberty.'

1. They're still friends- It doesn't matter if you have one friend or a dozen.
2. Embrace new things- Don't be afraid to join new clubs and try new things.
3. Basics- Work hard, play hard.
4. Don't worryFailing is not the end of your world. Just try harder next time.
5. Appreciate your teachers- I sometimes feel they are a bit underrated but they are essentially the core of your time in education.
6. You get what you deserve- Late minute revision sessions are not always ideal.
7.Truth is..- You are not the shit in year 9
8. Everybody talksThere will always be rumours
9. Truth is..- School lunches are the bomb diggity
10. Words to live by-Do everything 110%

What are some things you have learnt in those 5 years?

My Old Friend Nostalgia

    Nostalgia. It's a funny thing.

Little Year 4 me at Cuffley Camp
It's a sensation that many have felt before. It's a tricky little thing, isn't it? Anything can trigger a sudden memory-objects, words, places and more. The thing that really fascinates me is that each individual would have a different trigger and memory. Some good, some bad.

Recently I was tagged by somebody on Facebook showing the picture above, it brought back so many 'first' memories. First trip away from home, first time going camping, first time exploring the woods, collapsing tents, camp duties, disgusting showers and the last trip as a class before going to our wide scary futures in middle school...It is a dear memory that I hold, and wish to hold for the many years to come.

You sometimes get overwhelmed with a sudden rush through your body, and then the memories start to flood your vision. Momentarily, leaving you speechless. One moment i'm watching a thrilling episode of Teen Wolf and the next, I remember being starstruck and speechless when I met Arden Cho at Comic Con.

Whereas some memories will leave you cringing for eternity like embarrassing statuses which float around on your Facebook profile from years ago. Well, unfortunately I am frequent victim for these cringe-worthy statuses and it get's you thinking -Did I type that? Is that me or my long lost evil twin?

5 years ago my social life ended because my MSN had gone funny-99 problems.
The confusing thing regarding theses statuses and photos is 'Do I delete them?' and i'm screaming through your computer 'NO!!!' Why would you want to delete these gems of your youth, they may want to make you scream but let's be honest-you kind of like them.

What are some fond or embarrassing memories that you have?
